⚔️🔬 Science 🔬⚔️         The importance of science is well known today. Science is not just limited branch, it is very wide branch and extend study of the basics of science makes a new branch of science. For example, Biology is branch in which the study of living being occurred,  Chemistry the study of chemical, Microbiology the study of microorganisms, cell biology the study of all types of cell....etc....etc. But science does not seem to be as important as it should be. Now people understand that there is no alternative without science. Every one know that the science is a great career field, this is also a good education field, that's all there is to it. Still, we can say that ' Science is the one of the army of our country '. What is this nonsense....... How is that........ So let to prove this sentence, with evidence.... At first I would like to say that, we can't imagine the world without Science, because Science has given us so much

Science has given us many valuable and useful things, we know them as Inventions.
Similarly, Optical fibre is also a scientific invention..........
We know about bulb , tube light. we take about bulbs we immediately remember that one name is Thomas Edison. This is an important and enlightening invention or discovery of everyones  life.
But bulb can give you light up to a limited area. There was limit to the light........
But light has no limits this is what we see in optical fibre in physics.

Let's start with basic information about optical fibre.

In Marathi, it can be called as 'प्रकाशिय तंतु' ( light fibre.)

Descovery of optical fibre 

It was discovered in 1952, Imperial College, London. The inventor of optical fibre is Narinder Singh Kapany is Indian but had gone to Imperial College, London for higher education. He made glass string while doing his research work. The peculiarity of this glass string is that when a lamp was lit at one end of it, the whole glass string was illuminate even if the thread twisted and turned, the light remained. 
But john tyndall parform this experiment in 1950 to illuminate the fountain.

Scientific definition of optical fibre

"Optical fibre is thine, lightweight thread which made up of glass or plastic material, is slightly thicker than human hair and much more efficient than copper wire."

Optical fibre made up of plastic or glass thread, it can carry light for long distance. It was initially used in the medical field for checking internal body parts, now it is widely used in the telephony, used optical fibre for internet and networking.


Optical fibre machanism 

Glass thread reflect light frequently, so that light can travel long distances at same time.
Optical fibre is work in the principal of total internal reflection of light. By using this principle any types of signal can be transmitted from one place to other, without any resistance.

Optical fibre consists of glass or plastic threads, this glass or plastic coating is useful for reflection of light the thicker the coating improves speed and efficiency of optical fibre due to this optical fibre is better and faster than copper wire.

Advantages of optical fibre over copper wire and aluminium wire.

  1. Optical fibre it is thine than copper or alluminium wire.
  2. Optical fibre can transport light, network range very rapidly without any resistance.
  3. If optical fibre bends, turns and twisted it's can't decrease there efficiency.
  4. We can improve their efficiency by applying glass or plastic coating on it.
  5. Optical fibre is lightweight and easy for carrying light , network and other things.
We know every metal has won resistance and heavy for weight , if we bend or twice their internal resistance was increased due to this there ability or efficiency is decreased.
All above this reasons Optical fibre is better than metal copper or alluminium wire.


Verious use of optical fibre.

  • Due to the light weight and fast reflection ability, optical fibre is used in mobile networking.
  • Optical fibre is used in verious diagnostic instruments of medical field, for diagnosis internal body parts.
  • It is also used as micro camera detected in critical body operation in medical field.
  • Optical fibre is used for home decoration.
  • Due to the illumination ability , optical fibre is used for night lamp. Are available in various colours and patterns.
Is all about the optical fibre, this is very useful and interesting invention. 

During this time, LASER technology  was developed. Optical fibre and LASER both of these technologies were singled out. Because of this , the efficiency of optical fibre was increased or enhanced, began to be widely used in communication, TV , internet filed.

We can say that after this discovery , the theory of light changed.........
Light can travel only a single straight direction it's changes and convert into to, 
Light can travel any direction and also turned, twisted according to our requirements.
